Placement

Placement is a multimedia artwork which was created for the artist’s final fourth year exam piece. It comprised of a sound artwork, netart and video work which looked at the interrelation between the private sphere and the public sphere in the contemporary condition. The sound artwork  comprises of an indeterminist based playback system which accessed samples of sound in the artist’s immediate environment. The netart work consisted of photographs of the artist’s immediate environment and text by the writer Louise Buchler. The video was extracted from 'found video’ from the internet and included, endoscopic medical footage and car crash tests footage.
